Keeping Your Health – A Woman’s Guide

Many people underestimate the importance of making good decisions regarding staying healthy. Taking preventative action is an important part of anyone’s life. A person’s health can fail fast, and once someone’s health starts to fail, there can be a long road to recovery. A proper diet, exercise, and a willingness to always try to choose the right decision regarding one’s body is essential to maintaining one’s health.
Men and women, however, have different needs when it comes to health, and it is important to remember that. Staying healthy for women involves most of the same instruction, but there are some minor differences between men’s health and women’s health.
A woman’s diet, for example, should be different than a man’s diet. Women need more calcium, iron, and less fiber than men. This is due to the way their bodies process vitamins and minerals, and what they are used for. Women are much more susceptible to osteoporosis than men, and as such, should have significantly more calcium in their bodies. Studies show that due to physiological reasons, women need around 100% more iron than men, and around 30-50% more calcium than men.In addition to needing additional amounts of specific vitamins and minerals, women should typically eat fewer calories in a day than a man. This is not because of image or any reason that has to do with vanity; it is simply because women, as a rule, weigh less than men.
